Once there was a boy who had a toy pony

Nothing very special an ordinary toy

They would ride and ride for hours

Flying through the towers

Of the castles in the sky

In the windmills of his mind

They would ride and ride

And if ever they got tired

The boy would put the pony in  his pocket for a rest

It was a good long life time he had

But eventually the boy became an old man

But he still had his pony in the pocket of his pants

One day it became time for the old man

To make his final journey, to slip into death in the night

So he took his pony from his pocket

And rode her off into the light.
