Thomas John Shormis aka Thomas J. Shormis aka T.J. Shormis aka Tom Shormis aka Tommy Shormis born 17 October 1951 Bronx, New York and died 11 April 2020 at Schervier Pavilion, 22 Van Duzer Place, Warwick, New York 10990.
Parents: James Shormis (?-?) and Anna Shormis née Fedorchak orig spelled Fedorczak (?-?).
Last address: 71 Rockwood Place, Unit 36C, Middletown, New York 10941.

Thomas was the first in his family to attend and graduate from Iona College after four years at Cardinal Hayes High School.
Tom grew up in the shadow of The IRT Third Avenue Line, commonly known as the Third Avenue Elevated, Third Avenue El, or Bronx El (closed for good 1973) not far from the iconic stairs that connect Shakespeare Avenue and Anderson Avenue.
In the summer of 1970 he worked as a disconnector and driver for the Phone Company "Ma Bell" out of the Truxton Avenue depot, terrorizing the Bronx in his signature dark green truck! Andy Au and Vito Michielli remember him well.
On 4 November 1972 he married his "honey bunny" Sheila Shormis née Kelly (5 August 1953-).
They moved to 20 Black Stallion Court, Middletown, New York 10940-2616 and Thomas became an active volunteer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, New York 10940 as an usher.
He also served in the Holy Name Society, as well as a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Thomas maintained his faith in God despite his diagnosis of early onset frontal temporal dementia. This diagnosis led to his retirement from the U.S. Post Office in the Bronx.
He is survived by:
wife, Sheila Shormis née Kelly (5 August 1953-);
daughter, Sheila Ann MacKay (1980-) and husband Jonathan Mackay (1977-) of 59 Highland View Place, Middletown New York 10940
