Show me the past,

Without rolling in the dust,

after ideas buried, but not forgotten,

Without scars and martyrs, smoke and mirrors,

Where is this past, when was this past,

Take me there, not to rotting buildings, ideas, crumbling under their own weight,

nor to cycles of hate, with forgotten beginnings,

but take me to any moment other than now,

and in the light of this morning, this eternal renewal,

plead your case and see if you do not laugh
