Paralysis

Which one is best?  How do I know?

What if I pick the wrong one?  Is one really better than the other?

What happened to the one I liked?  Which one did I get last time?

I stood there, reading labels, comparing prices, trying to determine what to do.  Another shopper pushed ahead of me a just grabbed a box from the shelf without even looking.  How do you choose when there are so many different choices?  I don’t want the multipack.  I don’t need to buy three when I will only use one, but the price is better.  I could save money.  If I buy the smaller size and don’t like it, then I won’t have to throw away very much.  I wouldn’t throw it away.  I would use it and hate it and tell myself to not buy this one again.  Maybe I should get a gel?  I think I read something about gel being better than paste.  This one has a seal of approval.  Maybe it’s better.  But then these also have a seal of approval.  Would a pump dispenser be less messy than the tube?  It looks fancy, but it costs a lot more.  I definitely want one with better protection.  Mint flavor?  What is the difference between fresh mint and regular mint?  Or spearmint?  What about one with freshener?  This one is “Complete,” but does that mean it has everything?  It does have a recommendation on the box.  Baking soda?  Whitening? Do I need one with mouth wash or is fresh breath enough? What about fresh breath plus whitening?  But it doesn't say it fights cavities.  Who makes the store brand?  It has to be the same as the others.

Why are there fifty-eight different options for tooth paste?
