~~The earth turned pale
As the dull-grey clouds sailed
And flashed painfully at the tail
Closely watched by the sitting trail.

The ‘aggarbatti’ burned in the corner
In the middle, lay the commoner,
Relatives, friends and some foreigners,
Sat half-dead like mourners.

Nobody expected it that soon
It was quick as the typhoon
Everybody had the news by noon
And people frowned to see the full moon.

The great soul’s deeds were praised thro’ life
And even when he ceased to thrive
Without fail, was mentioned, by somebody’s wife
That ‘Death is a necessary end to life’.
