This is a short poem about letting moments pass. As we all know, time is not something you can ever get back. Enjoy!

I had an idea.

A beautiful revelation.

An epiphany of an unknown sort.

I was going to tell you about it.

I was going to express some thoughts.

I waited for a moment,

fear let me get distracted and riddled with irreverence.

I lost the moment.

I forgot the words I wanted to say,

and I let it all just slip away.

I let more moments pass,

while I suffered in silence.

Consumed by my own dead air.

I assumed and supposed, in unwritten prose,

and the moments slipped, more far than near.

I can't recapture that moment.

And now you are gone.

I forgot the idea,

I forgot those words,

and now I wish I could forget our song.
