How the Indiana Hoosier basketball team has gained the support of a Zombie horde.

The sweet 16, an accomplishment every basketball team in the NCAA hopes to achieve every year. Not only the team hopes to achieve this feat, and continue on in the tournament, but the students seem to want a slice of the pie as well. Only it seems that Indiana University fans have been hiding under a rock for the past couple years because the interest in Indiana basketball has skyrocketed over the past months. It is as though a zombie apocalypse has hit our own Bloomington and to be a zombie is to be a fan of Indiana basketball.

It is as if success of a Big 10 sports team can make a whole campus mindless following something many never cared about before this season. All of a sudden the student body is highly motivated to watch every game or attend every game, buy merchandise, and talk about how well we will do in the coming seasons. Indiana basketball was not killed years ago by Kelvin Sampson, but lived inside the spirits of true Hoosiers as something that was neither dead nor alive just needed a spark and a little upkeep to make it come back.

Indiana basketball is back and we see a horde of zombies right behind it. Whether these zombies are following it for the sport, for school spirit, or just merely because they want to party and win they are all highly motivated to make sure they see a glimpse of that magic 3 ball we have been using all season long. It is spreading across the state as we continued our success in knocking of 3 top 5 teams throughout the regular season and continued to spread across the country when we entered the NCAA tournament. It does not matter whether you are a boy or a girl, what skin color you have, or where you came from if you follow Indiana basketball you are part of the movement that has turned into a mindless zombie apocalpse.
