Humans started their journey in a free world, so why can't they just make it the same again?

It is almost like heaven! No pressures, no discrimination, a technologically advanced global community based on the highest human values. A resort like environment where everyone lives to the fullest.

"Reduce Cost of Living to a Bare Minimum."

“Sounds good but vague! Or you have a number and workable model in mind?”

“Details later; start with the end in mind. $ 800 per month for a family of four to live a comfortable life, no inflation…, makes sense?”

“Yeah, but is that a realistic objective or just a moving target, for a fictional, imaginary world?”

“My opinion…., let’s give it some thought to see if it is doable, though I have very strong gut feeling that it is not only achievable but can be accomplished in a phased and smooth manner, if Humanity is fully aligned, on the same page.”

“Oh God….,” A chuckle, “So you want to waste hours and hours on this.”

“A few hours, few days maybe..., not wasted but invested for a better world…, is that a bad deal?”

A smile, “Ok, proceed.”

"Where does all the money that we earn go? We know what the major heads are but have we ever thought that who are we really working for? Do we work for ourselves, for our families, for our communities or for our country….. Let us jot down the major chunks of our monthly disposable income and see what are we left with at the end of the month;

Current Scenario:

  • Housing (Mortgage/ Rent) – 20 – 30 %

  • Transport – 15 – 20 %

  • Groceries (Food and non-food) – 12 – 15 %

  • Utilities – 5- 8 %

  • Education – 10 – 15 %

  • Healthcare – 3 - 5 %

  • Insurance – 6 – 8 %

  • Communication – 3 – 4 %

  • Clothing – 2 – 3 %

  • Entertainment/ recreation/ festivals – 10 – 15 %

  • Debt repayment -5 – 10 %

Nil or negative (Accumulation of debt begins).

"So we are practically left with nothing. With one bad month, and any unforeseen expense, we are in the red and the debt keeps growing."

"The above-mentioned distribution may not reflect the very high or the very low strata but represents majority of the households."

Ideal Scenario:

  • Housing (Mortgage/ Rent) – 15 – 20 % (Median $ 140)

  • Transport – 8 –12 % (Median $ 80)

  • Groceries (Food and non-food) – 12 – 18 % (Median $ 120)

  • Utilities – 5- 8 % (Median $ 50)

  • Education – 10 – 15 % (Median $ 100)

  • Healthcare – 3 - 5 % (Median $ 32)

  • Insurance – 6 – 8 % (Median $ 56)

  • Communication – 3 – 4 % (Median $ 28)

  • Clothing – 2 – 3 % (Median $ 20)

  • Entertainment/ recreation/ festivals –10 – 15 % (Median $ 100 )

  • Debt repayment -5 – 10 % (Median $ 60)

Monthly Saving $ 14 or about 2 percent.

“Ok. But is it really practical, something which can actually be achieved...., and how?”

“Yes. The ‘Ideal Scenario’ is not just a mathematical exercise of balancing the numbers but it can be accomplished in the real world by rationalizing our resources, efforts, expectations and habits.”

“First of all, the government shall be the employer and will provide monthly stipend to all her citizens with a benchmarked amount of $ 800 for a family of four. Healthcare and education will be almost free while the other costs will come down to about ten percent of the existing levels.”

“For example, education will be hundred percent online. Healthcare will be partly in-person but mostly online. Automation will immensely reduce the cost of products while new manufacturing methods will tremendously increase productivity. Grocery shopping will be mostly online, lessening pressures on the infrastructure and eliminating the intermediary costs. Most vehicles will be self-driving, running on electricity the cost of which will be reduced drastically due to automation, so will the cost of manufacturing those vehicles go down.”

“The financing cost will be zero and advance technology will reduce the cost of a house from the prevailing levels to say, not exceeding $ 60,000.”

“No interest, no time value of money hence no senseless competition. The government will regulate the industry which in turn will produce what will be required for consumption. People will work anywhere as advised by the government. An ideal and blissful world.”

After a brief pause;

“You have made it look quite simple and plausible. When do you think humanity can achieve that milestone?" A brief pause, "Are you talking about one country?"

“In about forty to fifty years, or maybe less or maybe a little more. That is the timeframe to achieve that level, now will they be able do it is another story. See, it’s the intent and sincerity of the people that counts."

"A global government or some sort of centralized sets of protocols so the entire planet will become one country or more appropriately one society based on equality, mutual respect and compassion. Humankind should be working on developing models for the future world which is not too distant in the future. What seems impossible at this time is merely a mental roadblock that sooner the people realize, the better; and that it is the right direction for a smoother transition by avoiding the power struggle by various splinter groups, corporations or countries.”

The epitome of an ultimate human society is 'Heaven', an ideal and resort-like setting where people have the very best and they enjoy their lives without any fears or worries. In an advanced world where machines are operated by artificial intelligence working for humans with no errors, so what will be the impediments? Age, resulting in infirmities and leading to eventual death, and greed??

With a superb design in place with no deviations possible whatsoever, greed will no longer be a vice and will cease to exist. Death would still be inevitable but diseases and age related problems will be controlled. That would effectively mean that humans will be born, will live happily and die peacefully.

That is a glimpse of the future world. The step one is to be convinced that it would be a reality, step two, start building it.
