With the light of morning
A foggy dream calls
sneaking through my boundaries
scaling all my walls

It will slowly beckon me
back into its slumber
its sweet soothing lullaby
threatens to pull me under

But the morning light is piercing
slicing through deception
highlighting the guile
that tried to pass detection

And with that light comes clarity
it wasn't playing fair
for cloaked in the mask of promises
hid just a fading nightmare
