I wrote this after reading Things not Seen by Andrew Clements, and wondering how many people felt lonely and abandoned the way the character Billy feels in the book.

As I walk through the halls I wonder, do you see me?

Am I so familliar that I deserve more than a glance?

Do you even try to see me anymore?

On I walk wondering as I pass each person if they will even lookfor the girl everyone sees,

but no one knows? Is there any one out there who is willing,

willing to look past the confidence for the girl who has yet to find her own soul?

Here I wait, invisible, until someone comes into my life, who will be able to say

"I see you" and truly know me.
