In silence I stand.

Not even a word from my hand.

My pain you may see,

But will never know.

Beaten and hated by many,

But the hurt still grows.

I sit in the silent shadows

While you and others stand in the joyful light.

I have tried once to step in it,

But when I did the spotlight was on me.

That's  when the hurt grew

And the pain too.

So I retreated back to the silence.

Back into the grasp of the shadows.

Alone I sit and alone I will be,

In the silence you now see.

Sad poem. Like being eaten by shadows. Dark and intriguing!
