I look at her face as I lie here helpless looking into the eyes that I have helped create. I can see the pain inside building as she stares with the salt mixture of tears forming at her eyes. Her blue eyes. The eyes of her mother. I have been through all the paths that this life has given me to make her who she is today. I have been through the sadness, happiness, and madness that she threw at each corner of this life. Her smile that she now reveals is a sign of comfort for me, but it doesn’t stay as it starts to tremble and quiver. Around her eyes and nose is nothing but red as the sadness consumes her as she sits her next to me while I lie on the bed.

No words are said but by her expressions that she makes at me, it’s like I know what she means because I was there for her all her life. Our hands are joined together and she raises mine to press her lips against it and deliver a kiss on the knuckle that has been through time. I smile at her telling her that everything is going to be okay, but she knows that it was a lie to make her feel less sad, but she took it.

The thing is, is that it’s hard to tell the truth as I know that this is goodbye.

(I'm sorry if you cried after you read this.)
