A poem I had to write for school

Rain

Rain falls hard against the window

She sits

As the rain flows like her endless tears

The grey sky cries with her

Always sitting by the window

Always waiting

Her eyes close as she listens to the rain fall

Words flow onto paper

Words from a broken heart

Holding onto any hope she has left

As she clutches the letter

All she has left

The rain still falling

She is a shadow

Of a previous life

A life without pain, without ache

Through the rain she can see her memories

Playing out before her

Tears and rain falling in perfect harmony

His words are monsters

Eating out her heart

Still waiting for the day

The day when the rain stops falling

And from the window she can see

A captain walking up the drive

As the sky smiles

And sun pours down

And she will leave the window

And run towards a dream

But the rain still falls

Always the rain falls against the window

Where she sits

Always waiting
