The Forlorn watchman

€vening Star 29, 3€433

I hadn`t been in Bravil for more than an hour when I heard a particular rumour about a forlorn watchman. They said he roamed on a small island on Nibenay Bay every evening star at 8pm. I was intrigued to hear about this strange story that I was eager to hear more. Luckily though a homeless beggar knew about the story but was tight-lipped and asked me what the information was worth to me. I knew where this was going so I handed her 5 gold septims then she gladly told me more...

Finally I knew about the legend, I was ready to begin my quest to face the forlorn watchman. I started my search on the small island on Nibenay Bay seeing many unusual plants  like a Dragon Tongue and a Milkthistle . Then out of the blue I see a strange glowing figure in the shape of a man. There was no shadow behind the creature but it still glistened in the moonlight as it strolled along the sand of Nibenay Bay. The faint figure was a ghost of a man looking out to sea with a longing expression on his face ; it was the forlorn watchman at last. I needed to find out why he was there and what he was looking for. So I followed him for what felt like hours , until he stopped and looked straight at my face...

" Please , help me , my name is Grantham Blakely Please can you get my soul back? I will give you a great reward as long as you go find my ship in ` The Mouth of the Panther` ." Is what he said to me. I must help him I thought at the time. But would it be dangerous? I didn`t know . It was going to be worth it though. Imagine all of the treasure. So I started my quest by finding someone who knew exactly where the mouth of the panther was. And my first thought was to go to Silverhome on the water, they know all about the sea and the voyages. Firstly I spoke to Gilgondorin who knew every detail about the forlorn watchman.Gilgondiron told me all about Grantham Blakley`s ship called the ` Emma May`. Also that there was a ship wreck there many years ago.

After a long night of tossing and turning I finally had the guts to travel to the mouth of the panther.Once I got there I saw a huge ship , lifeless on the shore of Nibenay Bay I felt like turning around and just walking home , but then I would be known as a wimp and not a hero. So I journeyed into the depths of the Emma May. When I first got a glimpse of the ship, I felt like dying at the pale colors and the ghostly mist. At that moment a glowing figure stands in the doorway holding a sliver cutlass, it springs at me , slashing its red sword at my chest and throwing spells in every direction. With one mighty lightning bolt , it screams; poisonous fumes flame out of its mouth then all it is , is a black rag on the wooden floor. I continue my venture into the middle deck of the Emma May ready for anything coming my way. Before I enter the lower deck  I restore my health , wondering if I should turn back or if I should release Grantham Blakeley`s soul? Without a split second , I am in the lower deck, with 2 ghosts right in front of me...

After a fearsome battle with spells and staffs they are both lifeless rags. Before I continue to the captains cabin I loot all bags and crates , lastly i take the Ectoplasm from the once fearsome ghosts.Once I enter the captains cabin a see a random pole right in the middle of the floor with a dusty skeleton with a note in its handschained to the pole. I celebrate my victory. I had done it! I took the note whiched looked like a map. Then suddenly Grantham Blakeley appears with a smile upon his pale face. " Thank you , you have done it! As I promised , you will get your treasure , so this is the map. It will lead you to Black Dog`s Camp. Good luck! Thank you once again , my friend." Was the last words that Grantham Blakeley ever spoke...

Finally I escaped from the Emma may. Now I can retrieve my treasure and tell my story to many inhabitants of Bravil. After a long horse journey to Black dogs camp I step off my horse and begin to search for a chest. After a thorough search , I find nothing. Not even 1 gold septim. i am beginning to think that this whole thing was just a plan to get back Grantham`s soul. Before I jumped to any conclusions though , I checked the map and it gave me a slight clue. ` I hope you can hold your breath` Was all it read , I understood immediately. Quickly I dove into the cold water and began to search for my treasure. After many tries and fails i look in the middle of many rocks and see a huge wooden shest just sat on the sea bed. VICTORY! As I open the chest I pick out , 350 gold septims,a weak potion of healing and sorcery, 2 topaz rings,an amulet of the sea and a mysterious glowing red cutlass called ` Redwave`.I was so excited, I finally got what I deserved.

Once I arrived back in Bravil , I told Gilgondiron and all of the servers in the Silverhome on the water about my venture into the Emma May. That was the main story in Bravil at the time. i was famous, for once in my life! This wasn`t a mistake at all! I became rich, famous and most of all , I helped a longing oldman get what he desrved ; FREEDOM.
