Another Shot at Happiness

I sit up and night, in this cold room,
Listening to you bitter, drunken laughs
I try to tune them out of my head,
As another tear is shed

Your group if friends circle you for another shot of happiness
And all you get is a stumbling mess
But you won't pour that beer down the drain
Yet, you know it won't kill any of your pain

Comm'on, be a man and face your fear
and stop living in the past year
I'm begging you to put down that beer
Cause when I'm here, I find that I'm playing catch with myself
And when I open the closet, the Vodka is on the bottom shelf

Your family wishes you wouldn't take another shot of happiness
And the you won't be a stumbling mess
But you won't pour that beer down the drain
Yet, you know it won't kill any of your pain

The weather is "too cold" to come out and have some fun
You'd rather be sitting there becoming undone
As more poison slips past your lips, my heart fades into a lunar ecplise

Your mind says take another shot of happiness
And all you get is a stumbling mess
But you won't pour that beer down the drain
Yet, you know it won't kill any of the pain

Another night I sit up in my bed, waiting for you to say goodnight,
knowing you will never show
You'd rather skip the love you owe

And you still take another shot at happiness,
And you're still a stumbling mess
You still won't pour that beer down the drain
And that's what causes my pain
