Falling in love isn’t the best thing

At least not for me

Especially if its forbidden love

There’s no way of controlling it

There’s no way of stopping it

The heart feels what it wants to feel

And for now

My heart only responds to her

Just thinking of her

Brings a shine in my eyes

I can feel my lips curving in a smile

And my heart…

Well my heart feels alive

Beating faster and faster

I can feel my pulse rising

I can feel the love in me

Yet I also feel sadness

Knowing that I cannot be with her

She taunts and teases my soul

She knows me too well

My deepest desires are hidden within

I can’t unleash any of my feelings

Just like she can’t unleash hers

I see the struggle in her

The same struggle I’m going through

We want each other

But it cannot be

Not yet

Each of us carries this fire within

But we can’t unleash it

At least

Not without burning others

And that is something we both don’t want

It hurts to love

It hurts not being by her side

I see the pain in her eyes

The love

The desire

We talk

Day after day

We cry for each other

For the pain we are going through

For the loneliness we feel

She is unhappy

But what can I do

She’s like a trapped animal

I have offered love

I have offered an escape

But she won’t accept

So what can I do?

To help the woman I love…
