Weight on My Shoulders

There’s a weight on my shoulders
It’s continuously pulling me down
If I shift in the wrong direction,
It will make me fall, hit the ground
If I try to take it off
It becomes heavier
I am just now coming to realize
That there is no way to make it lighter

What do I have to do
To lift this weight off my shoulders?
What must I change?
How can I resist?
Why does it persist?
What does it exist?!

Why is its only goal to make me feel hurt?
Why does it love to do its worst?
It knows that it is breaking me
Every hour of the day
Every minute, it is what I must wear
Every second, it is there!
This weight on my shoulder
Is destroying me slowly… slowly… slowly….
