I walk the streets a lonely man, though never am alone.

I know all that inhabit them, although I'm never known.

I make the shadows darker and intensify the sin.

I am the master of your pain and the turmoil that's within.

I have seen the face of god and know his greatest fears.

I've been to where the lamb was slain and Mary shed her tears.

I know the weakness of all men and see into their soul.

I've trod the path of tortured dead and paid the ferry's toll.

I've been to farthest reaches and I've been there many times.

I'm guilty of all form of sin but I've paid for all my crimes.

Now all I want is final peace, to close my eyes and rest,

But even death is scared of me, my curse for being blessed.
