I wake up to the darkness,

I feel for you in the wind,

You said you would come back,

Then why did you leave in the end?

You said you’d be so careful,

You said you’d be all right.

You said you would come back,

Then why did you leave my sight?

The smoke, the beat, the people,

Melted away when you looked at me,

You took away my breath,

When you asked me if it hurt,

When you hopelessly fell for me ?

And even though I laughed but you already knew

That you had taken my heart away before I said no.

You protected me from my darkness,

You took death from my hands,

You showed me life from your eyes,

And how my spirit could be cleansed.

You took away my heart,

And you gave me yours to keep safe,

I still hold your love close to my soul,

It beats away true and free.

One moment, you were fine,

We laughed; you were kind enough to slow yourself down,

To not show me you frown.

How could you betray me?

You loved me quite enough,

Then why didn't you it say to me?

You were my jewel and my crown.

Your pain stayed inside and you

Just took my troubles away,

You gave me back my heart.

You felt me in your blood,

You felt me in your heart,

But you didn’t run away, you showed me where to start.

One darkness you don’t come back,

I wait for you with a plan,

But you don’t come back because you can’t,

I feel your heart stop and my world crashes down,

I tear my own away, hoping you would slow down,

But like the wind, you slip away,

Never to come back in my arms again.

So now I search for you,

In the darkness and in the light,

Will you come back for me?

Will my life ever be back right?

I wake up to the darkness,

I feel for you in the wind,

You sleep amongst the angels;

When will I get my sudden end?
