Watching storms has always amazed me. The sheer power and size of storms reminds me of just how small we really are when it comes to mother nature. We are always at the precipice of its influence.

The storm nears and shrouds the land,

It howls and pounds the air and pours its tears,

On all sentience blessed and damned,

One cannot escape its fury or its jeers.

It dances over our fables and caresses waking dreams,

It whispers to the soul humility in streams.

And when in the end,

The storm fades away,

Behold! The earth is made new again,

The sun returns and blue skies sway.

Man and fowl reclaim their place and marvel,

For only the storm can resurrect the state of all asunder.
