Unlike You and I
Somehow We Understand
If I could hand you a star
From the farthest galaxy, I would.
If I could sprinkle you
With tears I’ve shed
For you when you
When you were gone, I would.
Though raindrops come
From the nearest cloud,
Above your head,
Higher than ever, they should.
Though isolating yourself
In a unknown crowd,
Around us now,
Is dangerous however, I should.
Why?
Because houses don’t fly
When you’re walking
On the ground
A pencil without lead can be wrote
On paper without sound
Because you can multiply
A fish symbol with a number “2”
And the answer is unanswered
Just like me and you.
Because it’s a flaming,
Misleading problem
That’s why trees grow
From the soil
They grow from the soil
And nothing that’s spoiled
Or anything else
So solve them.
Solve what?
What I’m trying to say.
How far we’re set away.
How much you make me say
“I want to leave you anyway.”
Because what’s a compound without elements
Or a sphere without a form
Or a clock without two hands
To have a time be born?
It is a swirling ball of blank nonsense.
It is love without a heart.
It is hope for a lost and
A finish without a start.
It is a frown without a expression.
It is spending money throughout a recession.
It is enough when nothing’s full
And a curse wishing for blessings.
It is a “1” plus a “2” which
Equals a “0”
It is a medal given to a working class hero
It is you and I when the “U”
Is taken out
It is a fountain without coins
Whereas water’s without a drought
Do you get it?
What you tried to say.
How far you’re set from me.
How much you seem to say
You want to leave me someday.
Because silver rhymes with silver
And a pupil’s within one’s eye
And chemistry’s between two lovers
Who always do and try
To love, to love
Unlike you and I
We understand somehow
Somehow we understand
But why?
