‘I was cornered in a dark part of the ballroom it was just me and the demons, and my younger sister Sam. But from the look of it, she was already one herself. Her eyes were blood-red and sharp teeth and claws; it was as if she was brought back from the dead. No matter what I thought of her, I had to escape and fast. As they got closer, I notice a bottle of rum on a night stand. I made a quick getaway, but by the time I’m there one got in my way. ‘You’re never going to leave this place’ he said, ‘don’t leave Jade; I’ll take care of you’. My sister reached out to me, but I knew even with that kind smile and gentle voice, I knew I couldn’t trust her. I turned away, and grabbed the lamp and used it against the demon in front of me. He was then knocked out, but the others were coming out me. So, I went for the bottle of rum and then threw it at them. I reached inside my pocket, and was relieved to find what was in it, matches. I took out a stick and as I’m about to light it… ‘You bitch!, you can’t do this’, said Sam. ‘I’m sorry Sam, what has happened here was your fault, good-bye’. I light the stick and threw it, the demons were on fire and so was my sister. Not that long, the demons were catching everything on fire, I had to get out before the place burns down with me in it. I kept running, but everywhere I went there was more fire. There was one solution; I had to jump out of a window. The only one that was free from fire was the one near the front door. I ran down the stairs, but I didn’t realize it but the fire was spreading in my direction. I jumped off the last third step, I sprinted and then I jumped. Clashing through the glasses of the window, I landed and rolled over on to the cold ground. I lay there covered in bruises and so many cuts; I looked up at the sky, it was beautiful, but even so this was the night that I will never forget. A night filled with pain, suffering and betrayal.
