This is a poem that I wrote about the current man I am in love with. I showed him this a few days ago and it has brought us closer together.

It's been no longer than a day

And the sight of you

Is more than I can bare

And a mere thought of you

Turns my face a flush crimson

Those eyes

Whether a hazel or ocean blue

I dare not stare into them

For I fear

You'll glare in pity

Roses die and wither

My heart is blue and black

For the many times

It has broken

Your golden dreds

Like mine but different

You a young man

But I barely a young woman

Older and mature

Against young and foolish

The concept of rejection

Sends me into scarlet frustration

The roses die and wither

My heart a broken mess

For reasons

I am ashamed of

For the way

I spite my emotions

Falling for a man

only to get thrown away

Only to get mocked

And only to get hurt

I'm like a clown puppet

I end up to be his fool

On a woodstock stage

When I run I get pulled back

By the ropes that bind me

Now locked up in chains

My heart cold and black

I give up thinking

About him
