In this artilce that I have composed for class. I discuss on the debated issue of the legalization of marijuana. Its an old document, so I'm not sure if the information is out of date.

A Debated Issue

The issue of legalizing marijuana has been a great issue in Congress since 1935. Scientifically known as Cannabis Sativa, Marijuana is a euphoric plant, normally being the color of green, and having the shape of a seventh spiked leaf, that came from Taiwan over 10,000 years ago. Though it is used for spiritual epiphanies, recreational use and as a medicine, it has been banned for the “good” of the people, but I have a different opinion on the matter. I believe that Cannabis should be legalized, but for recreational and medicinal uses only. Some people, blinded by the bias expectations of false modern congress propaganda, have chosen to maintain an argument that it affects the user’s brain, making them act ‘stupider’, to the most astounding level of ignorance. Is that all the reasons they are backed up by, of course not, but the fact of the matter is, they have been falsely informed, just as every other part of the county. Marijuana affects people differently, it normally depends on how spiritually mature the user is, but getting back on subject, it would be really great if used for medical uses mainly because it could cure, prevent, and stop various diseases, which of these are HIV/ AIDS, and some forms of cancer. To properly understand my view of marijuana, you must first have a background in it. These matters cover a brief history of the Cannabis plant, a spiritual view of the plant, my argument of the debate, the other side’s debate.

Marijuana, a Brief History

The plant Cannabis, the name originating from Greek, via Latin cannabis, originally a Scythian or Thracian word, also loaned into Persian as Kanab, has been dated to be found about around the 3rd millennium BCE, in respect to the religious and nonreligious, where they have found mummified seeds in a ritual brazier at an ancient burial site in present day Romania. The seeds were found next to a mummified shaman that was carbon dated to be a least 2,500 to 2,800 years old. The Drug was called ganjika, which was Sanskrit for soma, which had psychoactive properties, discovered by the Aryans, who used the marijuana at their religious ceremonies to promote a state of trace in order to invoke spirits.

Marijuana was then found later on in the pipes that were dug out in the garden of Shakespeare’s home that was mentioned by a magazine by South African Journal of Science. It was mentioned a few times Sonnet 76, “noted weed” and Sonnet 27, journey in my head”, that what could be references of the use marijuana.

Cannabis was even used for religious sacraments by the Hebrews, and the Christians because of their similarity with the words, and uses. They would have small golden bowels that were filled with the marijuana at the windows of churches, and light them when the Sabbath would start, so that the mass would be enlightened.

It was used for curing asthma, warding off witches and as a love-philtre. He wrote that many Mexicans added the herb to their cigarritos or mescal, often taking a bite of sugar afterward to intensify the effect. Bourke wrote that because it was often used in a mixture with tolachi mariguan was one of several plants known a “loco weed". Bourke compared mariguan to hasheesh, which he called "one of the greatest curses of the East", citing reports that users "become maniacs and are apt to commit all sorts of acts of violence and murder", causing degeneration of the body and an idiotic appearance, and mentioned laws against sale of hasheesh "in most Eastern countries".

In the beginning of the 20th century, Marijuana was already criminalized in many counties around the world. The United States followed the crowd soon after in 1906, and the British Colony of Jamaica in 1913. Soon it will become the world’s most despised icon in a matter of just twenty years.

In 1937, the United States passed the Marijuana Tax Act, and it prohibited the production of Marijuana, in order to destroy the hemp industry, because major businessmen Andrew Mellon, Randolph Hearst, and the Du Pont family. The Du Pony family designed a nylon based replacement for the cannabis. The claims that hemp could have been a successful substitute for wood pulp have been based on an incorrect government report of 1916 which concluded that hemp herds, broken parts of the inner core of the hemp stem, were a suitable source for paper production. This has not been confirmed by later research, as hemp herds are not reported to be a good enough substitute. Many advocates for hemp have greatly overestimated the proportion of useful cellulose in hemp herds. In 2003, 95% of the hemp herds in EU were used for animal bedding, almost 5% was used as building material.

The Spirituality of Marijuana

Marijuana has been used throughout the entire world since the dawn of humanity. It was used as a gateway in order to reach a state of trance, therefore to reach a level on spiritual enlightenment. Cannabis has been used in a religious and spiritual context in India since the Vedic period dating back to approximately 1500BCE but perhaps as far back as 2000BCE. Back then the Herodotus wrote about it in early ceremonial practices by the Scythians, thought to have occurred from the 5th to 2nd century BCE. Itinerant Hindu also saints have used it in India for centuries. Modern culture it is said to have been spread by the disciples of Rastafarian, who use it for its natural consciousness exalting properties for their sacramental and sanctifying rites, as instructed by the law of the Torah; according to what they know as belonging to the truthful and faithful prophetic way of life "levity" of the ancient mystics whose history is described in the sacred scriptures.

The Maya would also use it as well. What they would do is find these frogs on the edge of the banks of rivers, and they’d upset them. When this occurred the frogs would give off some sort of whitish powder, which was a form of Dimethyltryptamine, or DMT in other words, it is a highly natural occurring hallucinogen drug that allows dreaming within the brain. They would then lay it out on leaves in the sun for a few days so the powder would be completely dehydrated of the water, and other chemicals that come from the DMT.

After that they would place the powder on the Cannabis, and smoke it. They would then sit around the square pools in their temples, which were filled with water, and they would gaze in them. They would let the stars reflect unto the mirrored pool, and make accurate predictions, measurements of the stars, and create different forms of techniques we used today, such as astronomy, and geometry. The would then make assumptions to what happens in the afterlife and make astounding establishments, which of these are karma, and the reincarnation.

Now, as most people with know what reincarnation is, but they do not know the rules to it, such as the rule of karma. It was said that we are all here from the beginning to reach a certain level of spiritual of enlightenment. We do this through the constant action of reincarnation having to learn from our past lives, and being reinstated into a different body as we choose what we have to learn next.

For example, if we were to be born for the first time, let’s say, several hundreds of years ago, maybe a millennia, and we are born in the middle of the crusades, and you were one of the soldiers fighting to find the Holy Grail. You’re mission: you believe is to fight for the word of God, in means necessary. You go from war to war, killing and assassinating every living creature in sight searching for the grail. Then, when victory is near, and the clues are beginning to unfold, you are struck by an arrow in the chest, knocking you off your horse, landing on some other member of your army. You lay there and then you die.

Does it end there, well according to what ancient cultures wrote about, which on marijuana, you go to a soul plane, which is where all the dead people go to choose their next life on earth. You are looking back on your life on earth and you realize how many lives you have taken, for a cup that you were brainwashed into believing that it exists, just for what they’ve told was eternal life. You want to make sure that nothing like that happens again, so you just decide to go back to earth and fix yourself into being a kinder generous person. So you do, and rewrite your life, making you the kind person you are over maybe thousands of reincarnations.

The Debate on Marijuana

Now, to support my debate on whether marijuana should be legalized is this simple is completely up to you and your knowledge on the subject, but know: It cures different types of diseases; it is well known, but the brainwashed and bias study of the group will obviously say that it is not true, but regardless of what they think, they were obviously not raised on proper terms, and are misinformed.

Now, there are a lot of countries where marijuana is illegal, but they do allow a treatment on small amounts of cannabinoids for a couple of disorders that a patient will have. Supporters of medical cannabis argue that cannabis does have several well-documented beneficial effects. Among these are: the amelioration of nausea and vomiting, stimulation of hunger in chemotherapy and AIDS patients, lowered intraocular eye pressure, these have been shown to be effective for treating glaucoma, as well as gastrointestinal illness. Its effectiveness as an analgesic has been suggested and disputed as well.

There are quite a few of ways of applying the dosage of the marijuana (medical). There is vaporizing. Vaporizing is a replacement for burning the bud (the marijuana mashed up together in one small amount like a ball). It is a healthier way of smoking Cannabis because it reduces the intakes of tar drastically. No combustion should occur or is needed to use in such a way, so very little ash like smokiness is smelled nor tasted. Vapor contains minimal particulate of tar, and significantly lowers concentrations of noxious gases such as carbon monoxide. Vaporizers contain various forms of extraction chambers including straight bore, venturi, or sequential venturi, and are made of materials such as metal or glass. The extracted vapor may be collected in a jar or inflatable bag, or inhaled directly through a hose or pipe. With little to no smoke produced and cooler temperatures, less material is required to achieve a given level of effect, so the irritating and harmful effects of smoking are reduced, as is secondhand smoke.

So with all of this you are able to treat certain disorders such as Multiple Personality Disorder, some forms of Schizophrenia, and some symptoms of paranoia depending on how strong minded the person is. It cures Multiple Personality Disorder because it makes your mind become one with itself, and it’ll give you an epiphany, or a sudden realization of great truth, thus giving the mind a state of peace of mind, only if the user is willing to accept what they are witnessing and experiencing spiritually and mentally. So instead of being confused, and changing throughout personalities, constantly harm yourself, and others, you learn to control it and learn to be yourself and yourself only. Now with the Schizophrenia, the same rules apply. With Schizophrenia you bizarre behaviors, Hearing or seeing things that are not there (hallucinations), isolation, lack of emotions, this is known and the flat affect, problems paying attention, strongly held belief that are not real (delusions), and random jump within thought of different topics. Now with marijuana, you will take control of these symptoms once you become strongly minded, and you will defeat this dreaded “disease”.

Now most people have said some things about the plant that has showed symptoms and all. The effects on each person depend on the user's experience, as well as: how strong the marijuana is (how much THC it has); what the user expects to happen; where (the place) the drug is used; how it is taken; and whether the user is drinking alcohol or using other drugs. Some people feel nothing at all when they smoke marijuana, other people may feel relaxed or high. Sometimes it makes users feel thirsty and very hungry - an effect called "the munchies." Some users suffer bad effects from marijuana. They may suffer sudden feelings of anxiety and have paranoid thoughts. This is more likely to happen when a more potent variety of marijuana is used. If someone is high on marijuana, he or she might seem dizzy and have trouble walking, seem silly and giggly for no reason, have very red, bloodshot eyes; and have a hard time remembering things that just happened. When the early effects fade, over a few hours, the user can become very sleepy.

Yes these are good reasons, but what most people don’t know is that most people will do it for entertainment purposes, and that’s where the common man will go wrong with it. Marijuana is meant to be a spiritual herb, because that is what it is, an herb, not a drug. It becomes a drug when people abuse it for their own self gain. You see the reason the Maya, the Incas, the Hindus, all of those spiritually evolved tribes were so evolved throughout their reign was because they only did it to please the gods. It was merely a spiritual journey that they wished to accomplish, to become one with the universe.

I believe that marijuana should be legalized, but only to the decedents of the tribes. They should be allowed to have their herb that grants them their spirit bliss. Plus, with all the facts that prove that marijuana is healthy to you to a certain advantage and it should grant you what you so desire. It does provide small amounts of tar that your body needs in order to develop you mental state. If that won’t be the reason to legalize it, then it should be used for medicinal purposes. Who knows? Maybe we might even discover the cure to all forms of cancer once we begin opening our mind on the subject, but only one thing can be done at a time. Remember: “One man cannot change the thought of a bias governmentally dependent society, but he can give the lecture, and open the door in allowing them to change, to carve us a better future for the upcoming generations,” Rene R. Salmon III.
