"Joshua Samuels" called the man outside my dank cell. "It is 9:31 Saturday, Febuary 1st. It is now your turn to face judgement". Two gaurds come in and place a sac over my head and secure my wrists behind my back. The bag smells of stale sweat and fear, the rope is tight, im already losing circulation in my hands. "You are being sentenced to hang for the murder of Em Samules". The name brings a lump to my throat and a knot in my stomach. I can still feel her warmth, and i long to kiss her sweet lips once more. I remember the first time i saw her. Her beautiful golden hair pulled back in a pony tail, that blood red dress that emphisized every curve of her beautifully shaped figure. The way her eyes twinkled in the light as she looked my way. The smile, a smile that could bring any man to his knees and beg to just hold her in his arms. Thats when i knew she would be mine some day. Im brought back to reality by a sharp shove that sends me spilling down the corridor. People say that before you die your life flashes before your eyes, well its a lie, you picture the ones you've loved and all the moments you've had and the ones your going to miss. I've been in the cell for two weeks, and every night was haunted by the dreadful images of her limp lifeless body layin in a heap outside the cabbin. I was the first to find her, I sat there cradleing her in my arms, until my yells of rage and sarrow alerted the authorities. I was arrested on site. I was questioned, and i pleaded my innocence until my throat was raw and my voice was hoarse. It didnt matter, i was sentenced to death. Yet agin a sharp shove brings me back to this dim reality i call life. the sac has now been removed off my head, and the rush of light burns my eyes to the point where they are watering. Im standing in front of a door, which is suddenly opened. Im greeted by a fresh breeze. Im escourted outside, i can see the gallows from here. They stand on a hill by the prison, the hill overlooks the whole town. Its like having death stare at you from above.the walk is long and tedious. As we reach the gallows i notice the crowd that has assembled to watch me perish. Not one familiar face greets me. Im now up on the stage. "Today Joshua Samuels is being tried for the murder of Em Samules". I now get to look the announcer in the eyes hes a short bald man. hes of middle age, and he fits the part of the executioner, he has a wicked grin and cold eyes."Joshua, you are condemed to hang for murder, do you have any last words?". The silence is over bearing. "No" is my reply. Boom. The sky is alight with lightning and it roars with thunder. The rain starts comming down softly then soon advances into a full on storm. The rain soaks everything right down to your very sole. Im approached by the executioner, and the noose fits snuggly around my neck. The rain is comforting as if the sky is crying for me, like almost objecting to my death. My final thoughts are of Em, soon we'll be together agin, thats what comforts me in my final moments. I feel the weightless sensation of freefalling. "I love you"....Were the final words Joshua mumbled before the noose tightened its grasp and reunited him with his dear Em.
