A driver goes in one way street the opposite way
He is not drunk, confused, or out for joy ride
The overwhelming urge to get to his destination
There are plenty of safer ways to get to the other side
Driver has done that all his life and needs to do differently
Deep inside his soul he know there a lesson to be learned
Dodging cars and pedestrians any wrong move and is over
Innocent bystanders have nothing to do with his scorned
Yet they will suffer the most and be wounded
It has become a quest more than objective
Nagging feeling that has hunted him, is this it?
The need to feel alive and need to know there more to look forward too
Expanding his horizons by experience the wrongness
At the end of the street he arrives with his heart pounding
What does he see standing at the end?
Himself standing there looking the same
But knowing that he is quite different
Now the question that remains is as old as time
Can he live with his new self?
Because once you gone down the one way
You can’t live with your old self
