Colors of My Life

In black ink, I write my many days of lonliness

I write my longing for a friend and companion

Using ink as black as an inky space void, I write

Of starless, cold nights

And of dying plants that are turning brown

In red ink I write my incontrollable anger

I write the blood from lost wars and arguments,

Anger from conflicts, and the oil that fuels

My fire-like rage

In ink as red as blood I scribble fiercely...

Until my anger explodes and cools

In dark blue ink I write

My tears from grief, my cries from sadness, and the

Strong desperation for a true friend

I write my lost tears from long ago,

Now only a memory

While new ones form as I write,

Drip, drip onto the page

In green I write the spring of my life

Of my kingdom, my land, my place where I'm in control

Of my Garden of Youth full of newly planted dreams

With an ink as green as newborn grass, I write of the times

I smiled and was happy

Of new beginnings and hope

In purple I write my unsorted thoughts,

My lost dreams and memories that

Are fading quickly and quietly

Without a warning

Without leaving any traces of their presence

In a violet shade of ink I write of

The things I'm missing

The components my young life is missing

A true friend

Friendship

Understandment

Love

Trust

Loyalty

Happiness

Support

Encouragement

As I wait, I silently retreat

To my own quiet world of peace

And wait with hope.
