I didn’t make my bed today –
I screwed up the sheets into sculptures,
emptied the ash-trays out
onto the floor; arranged
the broken bottles into position.

Had I got laid last night,
I would have hung
a condom from the ceiling,
thrown back the covers to display
the stained sheets. Alas,
I was alone again,
awake all night taking pictures of myself.

These photos I scatter (with careful hands)
over the soiled skirts and shirts
(meticulous accidents), clothes covered with blood
and other fluids. I call it:
six abstractions of an orifice.
The artist stands before you, naked –
you refuse to take notice?

Then there is nothing for it.
In place of a condom, hang a noose.
Invite the Marquis to paint
the walls with excrement, (Wait –
are you watching?)  unfasten my zip,
roll back the sheets –
I will piss on the bed.
