Walking right beside

Holding her hand

Afraid to leave her side

On the hot sun

Afraid to move

Or make any sound

Holding onto our love

Bound to the ground

Seeing the lights flash

Fear feels her eyes

Wanting to dash

Yet there are no byes

Save for now

She has to hold on

Not wanting to bow

Only move on

She grabs her boy

And holds her daughter

He wants his toy

She has a silent laughter

Her daughter stares

Too young to understand

The difficult stairs

That leads to a land

The land of freedom

Hopes and dreams

A new home

Full of her dreams

The trip seems eternal

Difficult and terrifying

It was an infernal

But worth waiting

The glow in their eyes

As he comes close

He says one word, hi

An adrenaline dose

Jumping into his arms

Tears start to appear

For no harm

Has come to his dears

He shows them home

It may be small

But in its time

It would be like a mall

It just needed love

And a mother's touch

But all above

Unity of them all
