Based on a true story, this song is from my forthcoming rock-opera, Cat In Shoe: a stage musical extravaganza inspired by the famous Athena print.

Stray cats have been vindicated

It was a crow who took my sponge.

That bird she never hesitated,

Through the air she plunged.

Fighting felines, caught off guard,

They watched her fly away.

That crow she dropped it in the yard.

I found it the next day.

Guilty crow, guilty crow,

Why do this thing to me?

Guilty crow, oh no no!

We cannot set you free.

Wicked crow, on Death Row,

Don't mess with vengeful Bea.

Poor old sponge, caked in gunge,

Discarded in a tree

By the claws of greed!
