It was about 11:30 in the evening when the young man awoken. The pills stopped working and the guilt has been overwhelming. Ever since that day he's hasn't talked to anyone. It's not like he didn't want to talk, no one would visit him. Heck. No one even acknowledged his existence after that day. It wasn't his fault. He trained everyday without taking a break. He barely ate anything for weeks just to squeeze under the weight limit. He was so confident in winning! The thought of his lost just made him so angry! He felt like he was going to explode!
Wait... No.. It wasn't his fault. It was his opponent. The champion was the reason was the cause for his failure! He was the reason why he had to stop boxing! He was the reason why he was in this state!
He forced himself to calm down and he sat up on his bed. He looked to his left and saw his gloves. The moonlight made the pair shine. The former boxer felt a wave of grief at the sight of the gloves. He stood up and looked out the window in his room. He could see the clouds covering part of the moon. They looked so calm. Not a worry in the world.
It made him think of his family and friends. He loved them all so much. He remembered his friend cheering him on during his match even when he fell onto the canvas. Unfortunately that was the last time he saw her.. He felt so ashamed. He wished he could talk to his friends again. To laugh and socialize with them. He wanted to hug his family and his friends as if each hug was their last.
He wanted them to forgive him... But they did forgive him. It was just a shame that he wasn't alive to know that.
