" I'm sorry, my dear friend... But this is the end for me... " This was the last thing that was on his mind as everything went black...
-----------
It's the third round and he already wanted to collapse by now. His legs buckled and his eyes drooped. He's been fighting so much for this, he couldn't let himself lose. The floor was splattered with blood from his previous downs. He made his way to the Champion and swung his arm, but hit nothing. Something hard hit him in the side of his head. His mind was becoming blank at this point and right before he could collapse onto the canvas, the bell rang, signaling the end of round 3.
It took him time to get to his corner, but now he had time to get himself together and rest for a minute. His hair was now flat from all the sweat, and his face was full of bruises.
He had to win.. He already lost so much. Boxing was the only thing he had left and he refused to lose that too.
Why couldn't he win..? He won all his other matches, some with ease! Why did it have to be this match..?
The bell rang.
He forced himself to stand. His whole body was still hurting. The champion was looking down at him. The Champ smiled at how pathetic the boxer seemed. The Champ made the first move.
He quickly made his way to the boxer, almost pouncing at him. The boxer got punched across the face over and over, blood splattering out his mouth like explosions. The boxer couldn't handle it anymore. He found an opening and swung, but it hit nothing again. He felt a hard impact onto the side of his head again, harder that the last.
He couldn't keep going anymore.. His eyes no longer had any emotion in it, his mind kept flickering on and off. His jaw washanging from his mouth but then heard something he never thought he would hear.
" You can do this! Don't give up yet! You can win! "
There it was! The reason why he decided the fight to be in this specific area! He wanted to see her! He wanted her to watch him win! Now he didn't want to give up! He couldn't!
The boxer suddenly jumped back, a type of ' glow ' in his eyes. He was focused. He was confident.
The Champ pounced forward and swung, but it was HIM this time who didn't hit anything.
The Champ looked left and right but was hit by a bone shattering punch to his jaw. The boxer finally found out his weakness, and now he was going to put it to use.
The Champ swung over and over, never hitting him. The boxer was fast now. He was determined to win now. He started hitting the Champ in the rib area now. Over and over, each hit getting stronger and stronger.
The champ swung, but the Boxer jumped back!
One more hit! That's all he needed now!
The Boxer charged forward and swung. His arm swinging fast and his back pushed in. He put all his weight behind his last punch, waiting for the moment of impact.
...
The punch never came..
The boxer's eyes dropped and fell onto the canvas. He was hit. He lost his chance to win. He just couldn't do it.. It was too much..
The girl chanted and screamed, trying to cheer the Boxer back up. But he could no longer get up. His body didn't allow it...
" I'm sorry, my dear friend... But this is the end for me... " This was the last thing that was on his mind as everything went black...
