I stumbled on a school book from my 8th year.
My first steps along the road of rhyme.
I put these on because I was so encouraged to see some great pre-teen poetry on this site.

SILLY SCALLY-WAG

There once was a skeleton who watched television

He tripped over a wire and broke a transmission

The transmission went daft

The skeleton laughed

And soon there was a collision!

A COWBOYS FAIRYTALE

Sixty inches make a yard

One pound of butter makes ten tonnes of lard

Birds are piggy-jacks with great big ears

If you touch a table a monster appears!

BEWARE OF BANANAS

A daft old Llama

Slid on a banana

And went flying down the street

He hit a lion

Made of iron

Gobbling up some meat

TINY FLY

There was a little tiny fly

Who banged his head on an apple pie

His hair got lost

His nose got squashed

At least he found his tie
