These were lyrics to a song I wrote way back.
They express my faith in what I believe was the greatest sacrifice ever.

IF I WERE

If I were alone

A castle on my own

You would die for me

If I were to fight

With jealosy and spite

To put the world to rights

You'd die for me

Selflessly you came

Defied the cross of shame

You died and rose again

And if I were a king

Then all that I could bring

Would merely be a gesture

Of thanksgiving

If I were a fool

And blind to every rule

If I dare to ridicule your name

If I were only proud

And biggoted and loud

My head above the clouds

You'd die for me

Selflessly you came

Defied the cross of shame

You died and rose again

And if I were this day

Unable to repay

With humble lips I'd say

'You died for me'
