This is about wanting to leave, but having to ask permission first. It's begging that person to let you go.

Let me go, I want to leave.

Give me freedom, sweet release.

Cut me from these heavy chains.

Stop the suffereing, end the pain.

I want to go, why can't you see?

I'm becoming something that isn't me.

Give me your blessing, and I can go.

The girl in the mirror's not someone I know.

River Jordan is swift and cold.

It chills the body but warms the soul.

Wash in it seven times, it'll wipe you clean.

It can save anyone, anyone but me.

It's hard to save someone who don't want to be saved.

It's hard to help one, when you don't their name.

Life is cold and full of grief

Give me freedom, sweet release.....
