They used to tell me,
You'll never be in love,
Not like that,
Never ever,
You silly girl.

They used to tell me,
You'll never be in love,
Not like that,
Never ever,
You silly girl.

How they scorned me,
Prying eyes watching,
For the bloody tears,
Waiting,
Waiting to laugh,
And crow after me.

If only,
If only,
They could see me now.

They'd be shamed,
In their attempts to quiet,
My soul.

"Liar liar,"
I tell them.

I am in love,
They just don't,
See it.
