Buildings stand as solid as ghosts might in the morning mist

I pray today my students will understand the material, the gist

I hear the soft pattering of raindrops but see only clouds

While red bicycles and cars soundlessly move around

Car horns and engines become louder than nature

And so the fog just contains the noise of humanity’s picture

Taking it all under the wing of a vague, weeping dove

The sun must be on vacation with the moon

Because there is no gold in the pockets of the sky at noon

However, despite the absence, the day wears on and is still bright

But does that mean I won’t be able to see the moon tonight?
