Can our past lives reveal themselves in our present? I believe so

I was at the mall during my thang checking out some shoes. I tried on a pair of Black Red bottoms sling-backs with three-inch heels very cute. I was admiring the shoe and how my legs look in mirror when I heard some rowdiness in front of the store.

I looked up in time to and saw him, a typical Ghetto prince with his Ghetto princess and their court as they entered the store.

 And I knew….

The Ghetto prince was arrayed in all his glory wearing brown Nike booths low rider blue jeans with black boxers a black hoodie and RUN DMC tee shirt underneath. His black Steelers baseball cap twisted to the side completed his attire.

 And I knew….

A combination of Hip Hop Royalty graced his handsome face. Tyree’s smooth dark skin blessed his Topac eyes, Ice Cube’s sexy lips and the sexy swagger of Puffy.

 And I knew…

His court was laughing and giggling about something they found funny about the lone clerk, but the Ghetto prince only give them a half smile. He kept a hand inside the back pocket of his princess, keeping her close. Possession.

And I knew….

I watch the court abuse the young clerk with words while he tried to help one of the women try on different pairs of, ugly, shoes. She couldn’t make up her mind about a single pair, so she had the clerk running back and forth. I boxed my shoes, grabbed my purse and headed for the register. That’s when he saw me and our eyes meet.

 And I knew…

His majesty turned his Topac eyes on me and with Ice Cube’s lips smiled.  Something deep down inside of me turn warm. He kept his eyes on me the whole time I approached the register and that warm feeling heated up.

And I knew…

The Ghetto princess was pretty, with a stripper body fit into a pair of Apple bottom jeans and a tight Betty Boo shirt. She frowned at me after watching her man’s gaze, then, she approached me with bitter words out of her jealousy.

I refuse to add to her shame paying for my shoes to ignore her, but she pushed up against and I turned ready to defend myself, but before I could say anything his majesty grabbed her to pull her back.

“ It ain’t even like that.” He told her, kissing her face.

And I knew…

I return to paying for my shoes as the Ghetto princess spit more words at me, but again I ignored her gathering my shoes to walk out of the store.

And I knew…

I met my lover at the door just as he was about to enter. We kissed and he took my package, but as I left I turn my heard back to see that the Ghetto prince was watching me. We both smiled before I walked away.

And I knew… that he knew… that in a past life I was his husband and he was my wife.

They say that we have lived many lives and that the same people play a part in those lives either as lovers, friends, family and strangers.

Sometimes, on very rare occasions you remember.
