This is me, my fears and the truths that surround more than just me. I have seen two of my friends die young. My father has abandoned me then returned. I have been thin and model worthy only to become chubby and unsociable. I broke, and this is the result.

I was Powerful

But then I met death
But then my dad left
But then she rejected me
But then I learned the truth

I was Beautiful

But then I turned twelve
But then my breasts didn’t grow
But then I gained weight
But then I saw the truth

I was Happy

But then disease took her at eleven
But then I moved
But then I realized how different I was
But then I faked the truth

I was Girl

But then I grew up
But then there were rolls and curves
But then there were dirty old men
But then the truth touched me

I was Innocent

But then I took a drag
But then she cut herself
But then he died so suddenly
But then I became the truth.

Now I am afraid

Of losing someone else
Of being left again
Of forgiving my father
Of having to face those truths
