Every once in a way, temptation calls out my name and whispers seductively… “just this once, it won’t hurt you to do it, just this once’ and even as I ponder, and mull over it in my mind and give it my consent … I hear the still small voice remind me which needs to be remembered.. “He was pierced for our
transgressions… it hurt him, when the sharp, hard pointed metal, broke into His tender skin, tearing the flesh within. With every powerful blow of the hammer on the nail,
it hurt Him as it ripped into the sinews and muscle…, it hurt him as the blood gushed forth... it hurt him, it hurt him deeply.’

The pain was real, and He endured it for us. He wanted us to be His forever more. Giving into temptation, just once, is good enough to bring us a lifetime of pain and regrets and temporary or permanent damage to the relationship we have with the One who paid the price.
Remember it hurt Him when He was pierced for our

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5 (King James Version)
