Gutzon Borglum and four hundred other talented people carved Mount Rushmore.

They began in 1927 and finished fourteen years later during the second World War.

This Presidential memorial is truly a great work of art.

It has touched millions of people's hearts.

They carved the heads of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln too.

Carving these sculptures was a brilliant thing to do.

They chose to carve four of our best Presidents.

It makes me proud to be an American when I look at this monument.
