THEWASTELANDERS

K.O.M.B PART 1

Prologue:

It was the day after the “Draining of the Swash”, the epic battle between The Nuka Gang and The Order, in which TBF Distro attacked to take over Murda Beach; was over. Nukana and the gang had wiped out the Order’s Army, and Distro was the new King of the South. Whoever controlled Murda Beach, controlled the entire southeast region of the former United States and Distro had just taken the crown.

Chapter 1: Chaotic Order

After the planet changing nuclear showdown between the United States and China, dubbed the “War of Revelations ”, when the final bomb had dropped, and a year had passed by the Order exited their panic room, which was a vault built deep in the ground able to withstand the force of a nuclear explosion, they executed the plans Brenda Brown had worked on day and night for a year which would allow her to commandeer Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as her base of operations. I won’t get into detail because this isn’t the story for all that but, in short, her plan worked. The Order took over the former number one vacation destination in the world, and struck agreements with the leaders of other factions scattered throughout the wasteland in the south for Myrtle Beach to provide guidance, structure, and leadership, along with a few rare resources for everyone in their umbrella, and for everyone else, to pledge allegiance and loyalty to the Order and do the work needed to re-civilize the new world which Brenda called “The Republic of The Order”. Myrtle Beach became the capital of said Republic and Brenda Brown was their President.

With her guidance, the ROTO developed trade routes, fields for growing food and other resources, electricity via windmills and water wheels, which were basically big wheels with flaps set up on axles that the waves from the mighty Atlantic forced into rotation creating energy in the same fashion as the windmills, and freshwater from rebuilding the old paper mill into a water purification plant in Georgetown. The region had the basic resources they needed to survive, and Brenda sat proudly atop her “Tower of Order” (an old resort skyrise) and grew comfortable as order, or her version anyway, was restored. As I told you previously, she did not know who TBF Distro was and had only heard faint whispers of the existence of the Nuka Gang. She had no reason to fear that her rule would be toppled because her Army kept everyone under her rule “in check”.

Chapter 2: Nuka-Town

However, Distros family plot was not under her rule. It was not under anyone’s rule. Since the war, the only people that even the knew it existed were the ones who were there. While Brenda was doing her building, Distro was building too. His family’s land had turned into “Nuka Hill”, basically a small town. Distro was King of his town as he ruled in a monarchy. He believed that in order for leadership to be effective one person had to be accountable for the failure and success of that in which he leads. Recent history proves that democracy doesn’t really work as it allows “leaders” to pass the buck, resulting in no one being held accountable. He was a fair king and never abused his power. Everything was handled by the laws of the G Code. If someone broke one of the few rules of Nuka Hill, they were brought in front of Distro and the other members of the KORT to be heard in court. He would hear the accuser’s side and the defendant’s side and then discuss with the Table what they thought to be true. In guilt, minor infractions resulted in a variety of punishments, thought of by Distro and A1-D, that they felt fit the crime. For major infractions, you were exiled. Distro is merciless. He has no fucks to give. Once you’ve broken his trust your finished. If you try to argue too much, A1-D, Boston, or the King himself, may just shoot you. If you said the wrong thing being a wise guy, old lady Butterfly, Distros mom might just shoot you herself. She doesn’t take kindly to people side talking her children. Rob, which is the name she gave Distro when he was born, in particular. Since she had given him away, she was glad he forgave her and came back into her life.

Back to the story, you already know how the rest goes if you’ve read From Myrtle with Love if not, stop now, go back and read it.

Chapter 3: K.O.M.B. (King of Murda Beach)

Distro sits in his throne atop the newly renamed Nuka Tower he had taken from Brenda in the spoils of war. The Nuka Gang and surrounding community, now happy citizens, worked together to clean up the aftermath and rebuild for the future. Distro had focused on getting some of the old recording studios going as well as the old radio towers and stations, so they could get music flowing through the airwaves again. Distro believed music to be the universal language that brings people together in peace and harmony. TBF Prodigy and King Distro were formerly musicians in the old world so they would have no problem recreating the technology.

Distro stands up. “Nukana, A1-D to get the Charger. We’re going on a ride.” Nukana struts off walking in a way that it makes her ass jiggle knowing this will have Distro watching her as she’s walking off. Being pregnant raises her insecurities so she’s trying to overcompensate to keep her man's attention. It’s unneeded though. Distro doesn’t give a fuck about these other females. He’s too focused on the task at hand. Leading. He doesn’t feel the urge to conquer any other territories farther out in the map of the wasteland as of yet. Boston Nick had mentioned going up to Boston, or whatever was left. It would be years before they could do that though. One of the nuclear bombs China dropped landed in New York which wasn’t far from Boston, so it was still heavily irradiated up there. Although they had masks and the proper equipment for travel amongst irradiated environments, they did not like to wander into the “Hot Zones” because the animals had mutated into monsters and some people were irradiated into an almost immortal state. If you don’t purposely kill them, they won’t just die, they will just continue to wander and look for their next meal until someone or something puts them out of their everlasting misery.

He has walked outside by now, and A1- is pulling up in the Charger. Distro hops in joining his bestie and his queen who was in the back, spaced out in her thoughts. She had an old smartphone that still worked enough to play TBF’s old albums through some earbuds she picked up along the way. The trio headed out south towards Charleston but stopped at an old radio station along the way.

Chapter 3: Velvet Elvis

Distro wants to go in and see if it can be salvaged and rebuilt for later usage. As they are walking in, Distro hears someone singing “One hell of a night. One hell of a night.” He journeys further into the old Wave 104 headquarters and gets closer to the singing. The singer is now going on in his verse about some girl that was stalking him after he piped her down on a drunken night after a party. It was pretty good in Distros opinion. He gets to the door of the studio room within the old building. As he walks in there’s a guy in a bucket hat, still singing at the top of his lungs, with an old bottle of Effen Vodka in his hand. “One hell of a night, one hell of a night.” It must have been one hell of a night, Distro thinks to himself. “Yo, yo, what’s your name kid?” Distro asks loudly enough to startle the unaware performer and cut off his repeating record of memories. “Shit, you scared me.” The singer catches his breath. “You can call me Elvis”. Distro realizes who this man is. It’s Velvet Elvis Beats. He was a producer in the old days, making beats for rappers and singers alike as well as scores for video games. He was an avid gamer himself and a sports fanatic. Elvis looks up and blinks a couple of times. “Your TBF Distro,” he says. “And your Velvet Elvis.” Distro replies as they dap up. They had heard of each other and even attended the same events but hadn’t worked together. After hanging out and rapping for awhile Distro invites Elvis to move inside the wall and help with the restoration of all music-related equipment and whatnot. He offers to give him his own house and whatever he needs to get going comfortably. Elvis accepts the offer. He’s been alone awhile now having lost everyone he loved in the war and enjoyed the thought of company. Plus, Distro seemed like a stand-up guy. The King had not yet mentioned he was the leader of the new world and King over the Southern States of Atlantis, the new name Distro had given his kingdom. He had just told him he had connections and could hook him up. Distro says with a chuckle “I’m tight with the up and ups” at one point and Nukana almost lost her shit. They headed back to Nuka-Town the royal city within the walls of Murda Beach, not in a hurry, telling each other stories of the past. A1 hits the brakes. A kid ran out in front of the car. I hop out to make sure she’s not scared. She’s can only be about three or four years old he notices and all of a sudden, he sees a woman come running up, who he assumes to be her mother. “I’m sorry she ran in front of your car like that. She got away from me.” She says with her hands on her knees gasping for air. “She’s fast for a little girl.” she continues. Distro starts to introduce himself and the woman stops him. “I know who you are. You and your gang are the ones that brought down Brenda. I saw the whole thing play out through my binoculars from the water tower. I thought one of your men was going to climb it. Anyway, I’m not mad about it so Hi my name is Jennikens and this is my daughter Liberty. She’s three and already a handful.” “I love the name,” Nukana says kneeling down to play with Liberty. Nukana loved kids. She had just made a new best friend. Jennikens told Distro her story and he invited her to come along as well. He couldn’t leave that baby out here. It must be hard for a single mom in this world he thought to himself as he extended the invitation. Jen obliged and the six of them headed back home.

Note from the Author: Jennikens, Liberty, and Elvis will return in Part 2 of K.O.M.B from the Wastelanders series. Stay tuned.
