"It" Is A She

It pulls you down.

It forces you

to hate yourself

and others around.

You feel useless

and ugly and

fat and hated.

But it's not you,

it's it. It is

ugly and cruel.

It's the cause of

all your troubles.

Try as I might

I can't help you

while it is here.

So I write these

four syllable

lines to show you

I'm here, I care

I love you and

I'd like to share

all your pain, all

your hate, all your

anger. And now

I've seen you cry

too many times.

It burns my eyes

to see you hide

your fears from your

own family.

'Cause secretly

they are what you

fear, what you hate.

Home is no home.

Now I'm shaking

as I write this.

I want to see

you free again.

I would do all

in my power

to see you smile

and never cry

ever again.
