A Piece Missing

By

Robert Price

I wait,

I wait,

And wait.

This shell of mine won't break!

But whoever I look after,

Will surley end up in disaster.

*

I walk through the street,

But every new someone I meet,

I fall to my feet,

For you cannot treat a person,

Like a slab of meat.

*

I hold this anger tight,

But too much will surley break you,

For you will want to take part in the fight,

And everyone will take you.

*

I see all the sad faces,

Tucked in the crowded room,

Staring at me sad emotion,

Condeming me to doom.

*

But how can I help it?

My growing up was sad,

And because of unfaithful parents,

All my efforts all turned bad.
