Fiery match, light my dreary day,

In darkness when hope starts to sway

Light me a fire,

When the need becomes quite dire

A tiny flickering light,

in the darkness of the night

Hear the lonely hoot of an owl,

Strike to ward off anything fowl

Even though it may waver,

It makes you feel a good bit braver

When cold, pull it out to strike

Light a torch to see where you hike

Start a fire to make a dinner,

So that you don’t get any thinner

Once a beautiful blood-red heart,

Becomes a blackened top, ugly and deformed after it’s start

Never to be used again

Not quite what it used to have been
