A shadow passed before my eyes
A glimpse of light
A pause, then fright
Then at once I'd recognized
That glimpse of light
Before my sight
Blurry like a shadow might.
A memory within my view
Of love and mirth that i once knew
When once he lived
So long ago
My night in shining armor.
My life had turned, when he had gone
To bitterness, from what went wrong
So very long ago
His life was taken from me
On the night of our Holy Matrimony
That night of bliss was deaths sweet kiss.
A lover from the past
With jealousy so vast
Had waited secretly Until we slept
Then stabbed my man right through the chest
without me even waking
And left me there to live without
My man was taken from me.
And now so many years have passed
Since that fatal day
And here now I lay
In my death bed
Hair of gray
A wrinkled prune
And you appear
Predict my doom
Of deaths sweet kiss.
You take my hand
My fear recedes
My coldness turns to warmth
My wrinkled flesh began to change
My youth had been restored
My hair so red.
The gray all gone
My man returned
Now nothings wrong.
Towards the light so bright we soared
We talked of heaven and earth
Of love and mirth
Of deaths sweet kiss.... written by Robyn Brown
