It wasn't meant to happen,
it wasn't meant to be.
He didn't show up,
he stood me up,
he'd promised me you see.

In virgin white I stood there,
waiting for my groom.
He should of been here at 10 am,
and now it's half past noon.

My sadness turned to anger,
my skin felt hot and flushed.
As I heard my father tell them,
" he's left her up the duff!"

Now my father and my brothers,
were as mad as mad can be.
And I reckon if my man turned up now,
they'd have hung him from the nearest tree.

Well the guests they started leaving,
so I retreated out the back.
Thinking thoughts of bloody murder,
thinking thoughts of getting back.

Now Id like to cut his throat,
but that would be too quick.
So hows about A round-about way,
of cutting off his.....
