Yet still and Still the Band Plays On

In the deserted town everyone is gone Nothing is there except empty beds. Yet still and still the band plays on. There is nothing left for the thieving con No jewelry, no money, no crown of the head. In the deserted town everyone is gone. The buildings are boarded, the town one great yawn. Every color has faded: the blue, green, and red. Yet still and still the band plays on. All the grass is grown out, there’s no fresh cut lawn. The thriving town now sinks faster than lead In the deserted town everyone is gone. When compared to chess the ghost town is just a mere pawn. The town is empty, just as it had been said Yet still and still the band plays on. The town can just lay in wait, in a hope for a new dawn The once bustling square is nothing but dead, In the deserted town everyone is gone, Yet still and still the band plays on.
