This is something I had to do for a class I'm taking. I'm about three weeks late on the assignment, so I'm punishing myself by showing it to the world.

The title and the idea comes from my friend Kelsey from our high school swim team, who once said that no matter what somebody says, I'll just turn it into something else and the original thought is lost on me. She tried illustrating this with a scenario of our coach saying something coachlike next to the water, and my mind would go off and I'd come out with "How do you make blue?"

so this is what i have.

I think its bleh, but...I don't know how to critisize.

How do you make blue?

Is it a mixture of yellow and green

Or taking the red out of violet

Or the orange out of thin air?

Colors are meant to illustrate, to create,

to aggravate the seemingly black and white world

that will always compare, always criticize,

never illuminate who we are instead of what we do.

How do you make blue?

The sky seems to know.

It cries endless hues of blue, isn't that true?

Take the midday, how the clouds come out to play,

even with gray skies and rain cries.

Is the sky blue even then,

when the world has to count to ten?

How do you make blue?

Scientifically, it's a color that's primary,

and the quandary of such things is

that it shares the same burden as red or yellow

They share the same unmixed bed

Doomed forever to mix and be mixed.

How do you make blue?

You've got to think on the kind, too

Your cornflower, azure and robin's egg

is enough for anyone to be sure

that blue may not be just blue.

How do you make blue?

Try to understand that I don't ask out of simple curiosity.

It's a part of my philosophy: Ask questions, be never satisfied with your knowledge,

always learn, always yearn, always burn...for answers, for questions, for more.

How do you make blue?

Blue, the color of calm, of tranquility, of serenity.

How can one bring calm out of the chaos? The blue out of the red?

How do you make blue?

It's like asking where the love is, or Where's Waldo, or is he really out there for me, waiting?

Will I ever know?
