The following narrative poem is totally UNbelievable but I guarantee it is 100% genuine and true. Read on and please do not stop before you reach the very end…

THE GIFT OF MAGIC

Michael and Olive love Derren Brown

His illusions are so slick

But what impresses them most of all

Is his magic coin trick

Derren tells an ordinary guy

“In one hand please hide 2p

And I will guess correct each time

Which fist it’s in, you’ll see”

Derren stares with intensity

So he can get to know

For certainty which hand it’s in…

And he’s right every go

Michael comes up with a theory

“I’ve worked out how he knew

He stares into the fellows eyes

They give away a clue”

So Michael hides a two pence coin

Olive’s focus comes alive

With certainty she gets it right

The clue came from his eyes

Michael stares in amazement

“I’m still sceptical, I stress,

You could be right by accident

Maybe just a lucky guess”

Olive is right a second time

Her belief begins to grow

“I just stare in your eyes” she says

“That’s how I get to know”

For a fourth, fifth and sixth time

Olive is right again

And after a couple more minutes

She scores ten out of ten

Says Mike… “I don’t believe it

You get it right too much”

But Olive boasts, “Just accept it, Mike

I’ve got the magic touch”

Then Michael says… “One more time

Then I swear that I’ll accept

That you possess a special gift

That will guarantee respect”

Olive looks heavenly and serene

She knows that she possesses

That extra-sensory talent

Like other Greek goddesses

She gets it right one more go

So the testing time is done…

Then Mike opens both palms to show

A two pence in EACH one !

Giggling… Michael skittles away

Out of her reach he flew

She shrieks, “You effin, rotten git

I’ll reek revenge on you !!!”

Please note the events in this narrative are completely and utterly true but the names of the characters have been changed in order to…  save my life.
